Is it possible to run different operating systems on the same physical network?
Yes!! Networks can be divided into two basic types of networks, homogeneous and heterogeneous.

A homogeneous network is a network that is composed of mainly the same platform types, running the same operating system and/or protocols.

A heterogeneous network is a network that is composed of different platform types, running different operating system and/or protocols.
